Rep. McDonald sponsors Kalles Junior High student as House page

Kalles Junior High student Sam Cardwell traveled to Olympia this week, Feb. 13-17, to serve as a page for the state House of Representatives. He was sponsored by his 25th District Rep. Joyce McDonald, R-Puyallup.
Sam is the son of Dan and Emalee Cardwell. He plays football, basketball, tennis, and enjoys mountain biking and outdoor sports.
“Sam is a bright student ,” said Rep. McDonald “His service to the House has been a tremendous help this week. I hope he learned more about how our government is open to the people.”
While serving as a House page, Sam attended page school, delivered messages and documents to legislators and staff, and fulfilled other tasks critical to the operation of the Legislature.
Each year, students from around the state apply to participate in the House Page Program. To become a page, applicants must have be sponsored by a legislator, be between the ages of 14 and 16, and obtain written permission from their parents and school. Pages earn $35 per day while serving in the program. For more information about the House Page Program, click here.
